Bay Vista has been serving the Cavendish area for more than 40 years. Our beautiful grounds, excellent location and stunning views have been attracting families and friends from all over the world.

Our goal is to make your family feel both welcome and relaxed during your stay with us on Prince Edward Island!
Arnold and his mother (Dorothy) started working at the motel in 1974; mum in the office and Arnold working in the restaurant and lounge called the Fiddles n’ Vittles.
In May of 1977 mum and dad (Dorothy and George Smith) were approached to see if they wanted to purchase the motel, they declined, but Arnold, his sister Vivian and her husband Fulton decided to buy the motel. So on the first day of August 1977, the motel became a Smith-Younker adventure.
They have come a long way since when the rooms had double beds, black and white TVs, and an unheated outdoor pool! Over the years they have been constantly renovating, upgrading, and enlarging our rooms to offer more services and amenities. For those guests who have been coming for years you just have to take a glance across the property to see the many expansions, new buildings and upgrades since 1977 which have earned us a 3.5 star rating.
In 2015, their family sold the Motel to Great Bay Vista Inc. The new owner loves to work here and is constantly working to improve the property in every way.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Christina as she ensures the rooms are clean and ready or Cathy, often found in the breakfast room, please do so. We love getting to know our guests and answering any questions they might have. We have great staff on site as well, and if you need anything just let one of us know!

"The room was definitely higher quality than what I would expect it to be especially for the price. It has an outdoor pool that is heated which was fantastic. Property is close to all main attractions. Couldn't have asked for a better stay, beautiful clean room, had a great sleep, beds were comfortable and room was quiet. Will deinitrly be returning next time we visit PEI"
